A last minute entry into the race. Managed to get a transfer along with y wife and the process was easy and the organisers helpful. Payment arranged with the two people we transfered with via the local run club.

Race pack was picked u via a frend which was good as they work in Newport. Made life easier. Other than that then that would be the only contact with the race organisers, details on Parking were clear on the website and easily accesable with teh road closers. Parking was next to the start & finish.

Bag drop right by the finish at the Newport centre (showers afterward) and a short walk to the start. There were clear pens for different times and it appeared from where i was that people stuck to them pretty much.

The route was ok, a mix of on road and path. Flat enough with a few rollers rather than hills, only one slightly crap section that was muddy and off road (about 50m max). Marshall support was excellent, no chance of getting lost and considering it was wet, windy and cold the crowd support was pretty good. There were a few banisters on the paths which slowed you down, not ideal. 

Decent finish down the river. Great post race pack for the price. Nice medal, Silver blanket, race bag (usual flyers), water, energy drink, fruit & energy bars. Also free massage at the bag drop area.

Big shout out to the marshalls and the guys post race. Really friendly considering teh weather.
