This was advertised as a fast, PB potential half marathon and it didn't disappoint. I took over 4 minutes off my PB!
Registration was painless with a labelled bag drop system. The start line was a bit of a walk from race HQ though due to some maintenance work happening at the original start location.
The race itself was 3 laps of an out and back course along a river / canal so the route was totally traffic free. The scenery was pretty nice but once you'd done one lap you'd seen it all.
The single aid station was giving out 500 ml bottled water. I think they would probably have been better off with cups as most people grabbed a bottle, had a couple of sips and chucked the rest.
Only a hand ful of supporters on the course but they were very encouraging. Marshalls were excellent and also full of encouragement. You ran past them so many times you knew who the next one you would see was!
Water, biscuits and a nice big medal were waiting at the finish line as well as congratulations from the organisers so all good there.
In summary this was a well run event and I was glad I took part, not least for smashing my PB! Having run it once I'd probably only run it again if I was PB hunting though.
