← New York City Marathon

Words are hard to find to describe how great this day was.

A challege getting to the start (must pre book transportation) but once at the location all is amazing. The views over the verrizano bridge and seeing the first waves go off over the bridge was brilliant. Great organsiation at the start corrals as expected. We even managed to get a Dunkin Donuts hat eventually.

The first mile UP the Verrizano bridge is lost in the excitement of the start and the views over Manhatten are second to none. Then the down is as easy. Into each of the boroughs is brilliant and all different. The crowds are amazing and so supportive (apart from Williamsberg wheret he only sound is footsteps of runners). The Queensborough Bridge is another quiet section (worth to stop for the views though) but from Mile 16 onwards the crowds are so loud and carry you to the finish.

Personal support along the course was also a massive boost each time.

The finish is a loud and "American" affair and the medal is second to none.

Leaving Central Park is quite a long process but very efficient and I love my race poncho.

The only marathon I have done twice (out of 9) and certainly one I would do angain and again!
