The set up is well organised & signposted. Good Maps & information on emails. Arrive early if you want to park at main Car Park as massive Queue. We gave up & luckily found off street parking. Bag drop (not marshalled) but in a closed off area & at own risk. Plenty of toilets but could have done with more refreshment stalls as dying for a coffee afterwards!
Two wave starts for Sub2:00 or +2:00. A congested start which caused bottle necking into the first turning.
It's not a closed road event & the first mile and half is along a main road with hundreds of people trying to cram themselves onto a narrow path. Streets with cars trying to pull out & pedestrians so hazards galore! This doesn't improve when you get onto the towpath of the Thames still congested and the pathway is majority trail & gravel. Trail shoes is highly recommended. Some of the path ways even had big tree stumps sticking out! I didn't notice if the route was scenic as I was spending to much time looking were I was running trying to stay upright!
The Finish was a another bottle neck so a bit of push n shove at the end!
Only a training run for me. I wouldn't recommend the course for PB hunters, off road with twists n turns.
Goody Bag with sweets, nuts, chocolates, water & a Shaver??!! ..
Great Medal that doubles up as a bottle opener!
