← Royal Parks Half Marathon

Royal Patks half is a lovely iconic race in London. The first 5 miles are on closed roads, taking in some special London roads and landmarks- Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards, Trafalgar Square. The final part of the race is through the parks with lots of turning back, therefore seeing either runners ahead or behind you.

Its a very busy race, so iny opinion not an easy pb course- but if you treat it as an enjoyable, busy training race, you will enjoy it! I loved it this year. I've applied for ballot entry 3 times and failed 3 times- therefore always had a charity place.

Negatives: bag drop queues and toilet queues are crazy! Second year in a row, I was still in toilet queue at the start of the race- if VMLM can organise a great bag drop and smaller toilet queues, then RPH should. Water stations are quite main and busy- only on one side of the road/ path- therefore very busy!

Overall, a great must do race in London, but be prepared to raise money for charity of you really want to run it!
