First time doing a 50 mile Ultra. This was one of very few events to go ahead in Wales in 2020 (after COVID hit). Plenty of pre race information in the week leading up to the event including detailed course maps and even an audio description of the course / pre race breifing.

The course follows the Wales Coastal Path from Kenfig Nature Reserve to Cardiff and is absolutely stunning. Just keep an eye out for those Wales Coastal Path signs and you should be fine although living locally I did choose to recce the course in multiple sections beforehand.

Friendly and encouraging organisers. Every runner had a GPS tracker so they could keep an eye on our progress or if we suddenly headed significantly off course.

Plenty of aid stations although due to COVID they couldnt provide the usual array of food and drinks but did their best under the circumstances.

Set off in waves depending on predicted finish times and due to the small numbers anyway, there was no points in which more than a couple of runners were together.

Excellent organisation with everything put in place for the event to run smoothly given the situation at the time.
