I was excited to be joining LPS Events for their first post Covid lockdown event.

I've come to trust them over the years with the many of their past events that I've done and wasn't let down.

The event ran well in comparison with previous pre-lockdown years. The new 30 second start spacing gives the event a time trial feel and really makes the swim start more relaxed. Take the benefits of post-lockdown races - less stressful start and more evenly spaced event.

The downside? Understandably there are limited spectators allowed which impacts the atmosphere a little plus no picnics etc afterwards.

The event was also well run with good safety measures and distancing in place. I felt comfortable with the whole event from registration to finish.

The event itself was the usual great time with the lovely #lake62 swim. New single lap bike course was great, scenic and well sign posted. The six lap run around the lake was picturesque - just make sure you use your fingers to count the laps in case race induced counting fatigued sets in!
