I entered the ballot in 2018 and failed so was pleased to be successful in 2019, and the whole event from start to finish was a pleasure.
Buzz. That is the only way to describe the atmosphere when you await the start of this race and I was excited too as the route winds it’s way through numerous London landmarks (hence the name!).
A little crowded for the first mile or so but it is important to remember that this is a race for all standards of runners, and all the better for it in my opinion as the sums raised for charity are outstanding.
Support on the route all the way around was first class and the whole event had a real atmosphere to it. A good atmosphere, with lots of groups of runners all working their way around the course - and enjoying it.
Medal was one of the best I have seen and shirt was good quality. And for those that need to, the selfie moments with the landmarks were many.
Travel tip: It is in central London and an easy walk from Victoria or Charing Cross.
Race tip: There are waves for the different levels of runners but be prepared to encounter people on the course. But remember , this is a fun event!
