I entered last minute as I wanted to get a race in before everything stopped and I was really pleased I did.

Easy to register even though it was last minute with quick emails and info from BTR about number collection.

Baggage buses were available at the start, loads of toilets and a nice relaxed atmosphere prior to setting off. It's a 09.00 start which I liked, I prefer to get up and go, but factor that in if you are travelling on the morning.

The race itself starts in front of the Liver Building and heads out to Sefton Park before the final few miles along the prom flanked by the Mersey. Its a nice route but it is a bit of a mental battle along the last 4 miles.

On finishing there was a nice medal and t-shirt to collect. Snacks were being handed out too, crisps and protein bars along with water or juice.

Overall a really nice run and an event I will certainly do again. There is a 10 mile option too.

One special mention for this race is they work in partnership with the local bus company to provide free transport for runners and they were collecting for local food banks. Excellent work by BTR and other organisers would do well to look at these sorts of initiatives.
