This is the second year I've run the 10km night race and it's fab. Running through the woods in the dark - awesome. There are hills, mud, woods and amazing views over Bath and Batheaston.
Registration is easy, there isn't much to do for spectators - there is a burger/tea coffee van, although mine wandered to the other side of Bath uni and popped in the cafe for a bit then wandered back. But it is dark so I'm not sure what spectators would do anyway.
As with all Relish races there is a well marked bag drop, registation and race briefing.
This however is not a race for a PB - If that is what you are dead set on then try and do it without being rude to other runners, it is a two lap race and there are one or two areas where you can get a bottleneck or have to be tackled in single file and you screaming past them shouting at them to get out the way is annoying and potentially dangerous, it's single file for a reason. It is a race for you if you want a brilliant atmosphere, something different, well organised and with as many post race snacks as you can manage, I mean there are even Jaffa cakes.
The medal this year was wooden and a two part design which is completed by entering the Relish running festival in the summer but is also a good medal in it's own right.
I would certainly recommend it and a brillant race tro kick off the new year with.
