I did the Half Marathon at this event, which seemed to be a bit of an after-thought tothe series of televised 10km races in the afternooon. The fact that it's not listed on here too is also an indicator of its standing.  It was a pleasant enough route, which was basically the city centre to the Etihad Stadium along a dual carriageway, then back and out to Old Trafford before heading back to the city centre.  The first half was pretty empty (the second half was basically the 10k route), but the best treat was all of the trophies outside the Etihad stadium for runners to see and be photographed with.  It didn't have the usual cordons and security that usually accompany these things and you could walk right up to the trophies - a brilliant surprise whoever you support.  Other than that it was fairly ordinary.  If you like your city centre races then it's worth doing, but it's probably best to do the 10k, to which it seemed like most of the effort had gone into organising.
