Living in the Philippines I've had plenty of friends go and do this race yearly despite it being one of the hottest marathons to do. This was the first year they held the marathon and half marathon as a night run experience, so I signed up for the half marathon thinking the night conditions would make it cooler.
It didn't, and it felt even hotter and more humid than the Laguna Phuket Marathon I did three years ago in the daytime under the sun. Still, it was a well-supported course (long aid stations!) with plenty of enthusiasm from volunteers, marshals, and spectators alike, which buoyed me and 50,000 others toward the finish line.
Unfortunately the late finish meant lack of transport options (the ShareBus offered did not run at frequent intervals, so it wasn't a good deal) as well as places to purchase food. If organizers considered a midnight start for marathoners and a 3am start for half marathon, people would finish as the food courts opened and buses and trains started running.
