The half-marathon that wasn't.

It was all a bit confusing at the start. I lined up towards the back of the Orange Wave and really struggled to hear what was being announced, before the new filtered back that the route was being cut short 1 mile due to local flooding. In the end it was circa 2 miles short and it was a suspicous vehicle. But disappointment aside, I think the organsiers did a good job of handling the disruption.

Much preferred the city centre start, very convenient for those of us coming in by train. And liked the slight revision to the route. The lumpy bits are done and dusted by about 10 km and it's predominatly flat for the second half of the run, bar the hill at the end.

As usual good support along the route, good aid stations, okay marshalling.

The finish funnel works well. Nice t-shirt, but I'd say a bit on the large size. Mines a bit baggier than i'd like for a running top. Nice little village at the finish. There were samples from Nandos and Wagamama to try. Massage and gait analysis etc.

Third time I've run Birmingham, and prob not the last.
