This was my first time at Kingston half, although I have run The Hampton Court half and Harry Hawkes 10 from the same organiser several times.
As expected, the route covers a lot of the same ground. There was a bit of congestion at the start where there are a few pinch points, but other than that, it was a good route and flat enough to be a good choice for PB hunters.
It is not a road closed event so marshalls were responsible for traffic control when roads had to be crossed, but they did an excellent job.
Nice medal and shirt, and some useful things in the goody bag afterwards.
My only quibble was the plastic cups at the water stations. If you are going to go with plastic, use small bottles that can be recycled and are a heck of a lot easier to drink out of. Otherwise, compostable cups would be a better option. The plastic cups on offer were very hard to drink from and are wasteful. I hope the organiser addresses this in future.
Other than that, a near-flawless experience.
