← Royal Parks Half Marathon

This was my debut at RPHM and one I had been looking to for sometime as I have heard nothing but good things about it.

The welcome area was very muddy due to the excessive rain and it was not the best to start a race with wet muddy feet.  I know it is a cost but if they had laid a walk way it would have been a benefit for the racers and the park grass.

The start was ok and the only point I would make here is that the pacers seemed to be a bit out of place if the intention was the colour of flag to match the start area which they didn’t seem to do.

The race it very well supported along the whole route and the marshals provided encouragement along the way.

The aid stations had the new Oho water in place of plastic cups which I like it is just nice to carry something for a short time to be able to get it in. The other water stations were compositible cups and I have no issue with these in place of bottle as well.

Coming into the finish line the MC is shouting encouragement to get you over the line.  Then it is medal time 😁.  Being an eco friendly race anything you get it either recyclable or made from recycled materials which again is a great thing to see.  You are given you bag and can collect a drink energy bar and the all
Important finishers T-shirt.

Unfortunately it was then back via the mud to get your things.  You had a food area to go to with a bar and if you supported a charity then they has a big tented area you could retreat to.

A bucket list race and one a may well go back to
