Overall a good race on a challenging course. Obviously the chance to run over the bridge is the big draw but beyond the bridge the route is still scenic. The marshalling on the course was great and everyone seemed well organised.
My only two concerns were upon arrival the organisation of the parking was not good. We passed two parking Marshall’s who made no attempt to stop us parking in the wrong car park. It was only when we asked where to park we were told not to park where we had.
The other concern, and probably the greater one, was the lack of water on the course. On one of the hottest days of the year 3 water stops for a 1/2 Marathon (particularly a challenging one) is far too infrequent. At the finish I was given one small bottle and told it could be refilled after the tee-shirt collection. When it came to refilling there were two small water barrels and a queue of around 70/100 people...
Given the lack of water on route and the limited supply of water at the finish I would imagine there were an awful lot of very dehydrated runners yesterday afternoon.
