Wow - what an event. My first time at Endure 24 and having heard so much about it from club members who've participated before, I was really looking forward to the event - it did not disappoint.

I was in a team of four for this event and we had a target of 120 miles (24 laps), running 30 miles (six laps) each. In the end we completed 125 miles, 35 for me personally, even with an injury in our team.

The race atmosphere was electric, especially on the first lap as we led the teams out through a huge crowd. The marshal supervision was exceptional, particularly through the night, when I needed it the most. The aid stations on the course were well stocked, particualrly the drinks station/bar at around 5km. The entertainment on the course and in the race village helped carry us during the toughest parts of the event and the emotion that was evident at the end of the event from all involved was like nothing I'd seen before. I think the thing that got me the most and really made this event special was the support for the solo runners both on and off the course. The medal at the end was one of the best I have too, and lets be honest, everyone loves a good medal.

I would highly reccomend this event to anyone thinking of doing a longer distance event, especially as part of a team.
