Looking for something different and not a road run, I found the Muddy MoRun. There were two distances available 10k and 10 miles, I opted for the 10k. The race was held in the lovely Swinley Forest in Bracknell, which has lots of trails and is also used for mountain biking. Parking was simple and a short walk from the race registration. A coffee van, café and toilets were also conveniently located close by.
People were wearing fancy-dress costumes, which made it quite entertaining. Before the 10k and 10-mile race, a short children's Fun Run also took place. The route was described as flat, but in actual fact, there were a few slopes to contend with. In certain places, you couldn't avoid running through mud and bogs. It was a great laugh, the marshals were friendly as were other runner participating. At the end, you received a great medal in the shape of a moustache and a head sweatband. The race was also chipped timed.
