This was my second year of doing the Leeds 10k. I have a season ticket so a lot of the event registration didn't apply to me. My only complaint was the narrowing of the course a couple of times in the first km, which meant that we almost came to a standstill, but in spite of this, the first km was one of my fastest for years. The out-and-back route might not be everyone's favourite, but it makes navigation and spotting faster friends easier! It wasn't as hot as last year but was still warm and muggy. My target was to improve on last year's 1:22:31, and I finished in 1:18:24, so no complaints on that score. I recorded the run on my Garmin and Strava, and Garmin(invariably more reliable) recorded the distance as 10.16km(my km alert came before the 1km marker, but after that all the alerts were consistent - about 160m before the km marker).
The crowd and volunteer/marshal support was very good, and I am hoping to be back for my third time next year.
