Inaugural porthcawl 10k . Lovely sea front race village, 4000 runners , completely sold out in 2019 . Obviously new races have teething problems , parking a bit of an issue which caused a delayed start . Feedback provided to organisers should improve this for 2020. The course is a very unique one to say the least , along the sea front , into Trecco bay holiday park, great support from holiday makers in their caravans , I heard of an offer to a runner of a can of Guinness by one chap. Once through the holiday park it’s out through the funfair and back onto the seafront and into the town . The course is far from flat , very lumpy in places but a nice downhill section for a sprint finish . Plenty of places for coffee and beers afterwards , and even a dip in the sea to recover the muscles if you wish . No goody bag at the end which was disappointing but a nice T-shirt.
