My son did the Tristar 1 race. It was his first open water race with wetsuit. He did very well coming 6th in the boys. We had done some open water practice 3 times before this race including taking wetsuit on and off which was definitely useful. It’s a tough run up from the lake to transition. I wasn’t completely clear where the run course was and a few children ran a extra lap when they should not have. Perhaps having signs at points where it’s either one more lap or finish reminding the children how many laps they need to do. Or have Marshall’s at these points?
Great experience overall though and we will be back
