← The Chillington Hall Challenge

This was a last minute sign up, as recommended by a friend. It is a small but friendly race around the grounds of Chillington Hall in Staffordshire. The Half Marathon route was 2 laps, which included tarmac, gravel, and woodland trails - mainly the latter.

The trail through the wood had obviously been long grass and a track was cut using a tractor. The tyres left groves which were solid due to the warm weather we had, making it quite dangerous in small areas to run on. (Personnal opinion)

The marshal's were great having been stood out in the sun and heat all day, and gave plenty of encouragement. The medal was great and well earned.

This is a race that will appeal to a lot of people. I may run this again, but it's not high on my list.
