This was my 4th year doing this event. It was my first 10k 4 years ago, which makes this event special to me. The organisation is relaxed but excellent, the communication before hand is fabulous. The medals are unique every year and are my favourite momento each year. The scenary is also beautiful and the event is never over done with numbers, so you can swim at your own pace. It is much improved without the relay swimmers this year, especially logistics and the feed stations. The only improvement I would ask for is can we move the car parking back to the Leisure centre? It takes too long to get back to your car at the end of the event going to the race course.
Hi Nicola. You have clearly converted to a "10km swimmer" now :-) Glad you enjoy the event so much and keep joining us - thank you. With regards to the parking - due to the number of participants now it is not possible to guarantee enough parking at the Leisure Centre on the hardstanding due to their own bookings and customers requiring access to the car park too. The other option was the field by the finish area which again isn't a guaranteed area as it is weather dependant as to whether we can use that field; which is a risk we just cannot afford to tak unfortunately. - MST Events
