This is unusual for me being a weekday night race. Staring at 7:30 on a Wednesday night this race has been going for a number of years, and is a bit of a fixture on the local circuit.
The route itself is all on quiet country roads near the airport to the West of Edinburgh, the roads are not closed, however, so you do have to be a bit wary of the traffic on the road. The route is essentially a five mile circuit starting and finishing at an industrial unit, there are some hills but overall this is an undulating rather than very hilly route. There are some quite nice forest sections but overall this is not a particularly dramatic route.
Being a prominent fixture in the local calendar the field in the race is pretty fast, but it is quite a friendly race. Entry was only £6, so no t-shirt or medal but there was chip timing and cakes at the end!
Overall a good midweek local race - recommended if you happen to be up in Edinburgh at this time.
