I took part in the Full Tour of Tameside which, if you don't know, is 4 races in 4 consecutive days. You can enter each of the 4 races individually but I think you would lose some of the uniqueness of the event - as well as rankings and results for each race, there's an overall leader board for the Full Tour.
This review focuses on the individual race.
The first race is the X-Trail 10k. A mixture of road, trails and paths on the Oldham side of Ashton and it was a pretty course. We were fortunate with the weather as it could have got very slippy in the heavy rain we've had this weekend.
The pre-race brief was a bit quiet (I wasn't far back) and the led warm-up was a bit impractical as to do half of the moves would have resulted in bashing into the other runners.
Definitely worth running this in trail shoes as sections in the second part in particular were muddy and potentially slippy under foot. That said, the hint is in the title 'X-Trail'!
Medals at the end and water, all chip timed. Lovely opportunity to meet Dr Ron Hill at the end too which made it special for me.
