· 2019 Half Marathon ·

This is now my 4th year in a row doing the Edinburgh Half Marathon. The route is the same as last year but different from the route others may have run in prior years. It now starts up in Potterrow near the University, before going briefly through the centre of town and heading out towards East Lothian, as normal.

The big difference this year was that unusually it was bad weather and very, very wet. Usually the marathon weekend is very, very warm so a soaking wet day was quite unusual.

There are dozens of reviews and route plans online you can have a look at online, all I can really add is that this is a normal "big race". So well organised and run, but busy, expensive and perhaps lacking some of the personality of smaller races. Still a fixture of the UK circuit though, so one you need to try if you haven't already.
