· 2019 Half Marathon ·

So the year before I did the May The 4th race as my first half marathon! So this year I was back to take on the Revenge of The Fifth. Same route, and almost in my backyard so I knew what was involved.

The How Hard Can It Be Crew I think organise events that have the location and the athletes at the heart of both races I have done. Friendly and welcoming to all, with fancy dress welcome and encouraged. I love the atmosphere and mutual respect shown to all.

The route frankly is brutal from the start. with a tough uphill stretch that seems to continue for ever. watch out for the weather it can be changeable and super windy in places but for us this time we were treated with stunning clear views and unless you are chasing times I would take a camera if you are new to the area. great and very welcome feed stations with a variety of sweets crisps savoury snacks as well as water pop cola etc. the helpers there are fantastic.

the second half of the route is relentless and no let up with the final descent!

The race is cup free - reusable cups are available to purchase at registration.

these guys do the best medals - highly recommended organisers.

note next year this weekend of trail races moves to a new route.
