← Blenheim Palace Triathlon

What an fabulous event! Parking was easy on arrival and departure, you collect your chip at registration. My support crew had all got pre-booked spectator tickets £12 p/adult, £6 p/child. There were lots of kids garden games to play plus bouncy castle obstacle course, mini golf all free or a donation to bloodwise.

Transistion area is within the palace walls which is pretty spectacular, fun & informative briefing from marshall in transition. Once set up in transition made way to swim start where lots of families were settled on grass. Plenty of toilets around the main areas of event, didn't even queue! A really friendly event with people from all over the country.

750 swim was brill, lake was balmy at 19.8 degrees. Jump in and swim 15 metres to start line, tred water for a few mins before heading off across the lake. There is a 400-500 metre run up a steep hill into T1. Bike onto a 3 lap course with some decent inclines and decents. My only very small negative was that some of bike course got a bit busy but it was same for everyone! Off bike into T2 and out for a 2 lap run course which is also hilly but what goes up must come down! Both bike and run great for spectator support. Loads of marshalls on route supporting particpants which was lovely. 2 x drinks stations on run with cups rather than bottles so if you prefer a bottle take your own drink from T2.

On finishing you get a medal, bottle of water and a nice t shirt. Getting back into transition to collect bike etc was easy and although it was getting busier by time i'd finished it was still easy to navigate through people and find my support crew! Highly recommend this event :) My family and friends had a lovely day out too. Lots of food stalls and ice creams available! ;)
