← Vitality London 10,000

This was my second year at this event but it was less exciting this year for various reasons.

The bag drop took almost 20 minutes to get through despite leaving it until after the required time to allow queues to go down.
I didn’t even try and join the toilet queues as they were horrendous - even for a large race turnout!
Once on the run the route was good - always a very special buzz aboutvrunning round the capital - however the constant weaving around walkers who ‘just stop’ was very frustrating. Now I’m known to walk at some events but I do always check behind before I slow down and I move as quickly as I can to the side.
At the first water station I was refused a bottle of water as the marshal wanted me to move further down!! The wonderful marshal next him kindly gave me one of hers with a smile so a big thank you to her.
Once finished the mad crush started again. Marshals held the runners back while they let the public walk through and then we had to battle to find a goodie bag and t-shirt! We did get our medals though which was better than many others.

Would I do it again? Probably as the run itself is a great way to meet up with friends from far and wide but I would feel bad for recommending it to a new runner as it can seem very chaotic in places.
