← AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run
The route didnt appear to be too well received in advance but to be honest I really enjoyed it. The closed roads, going over flyovers and through tunnels gave it a unique feel as spectators couldnt get to teh side of the road for much of the route but were in numbers at the start and finish and to be honest because of teh numbers of runners you were in company all of the way around.
It isnt an easy route, it undulates the whole way and so isnt a PB course but you can set a steady pace and enjoy the ups as well as the downs. Great finish at Aston University, teh end is further away than you think! Nice finish shute with lots of shouting spectators, goody bag is adequate, tees shirts massive!! My wife's small fits me perfectly and I am 6'3" and 79Kg!
I will certainly do this again and recommend it as a city race.
