Really good fun event which suits established trail runners and novices alike.

The organisation at the festival was spot on as usual apart from a bit of confusion amongst some of the staff telling people conflicting info about bag drops which were either in the village or across the lake. This meant a few people had a chilly trip on the boat to the start as they'd got rid of all their kit beforehand. Very very minor gripe about what was otherwise a well organised race.

The route itself is excellent with the perfect mix of rolling wooded areas, steep ascents, single track and a couple of semi-technical descents to keep the more experienced trail runners happy.

The run is well supported with good marshals placed at key points. It's quite difficult to go wrong on this route as it's well marked. I gave the route brief 5 stars as you cant really ask for more than;

"Follow the red flags, if you get injured tell someone and if the marshal is pointing in a particular direction then that's the way to go"

Short, to the point and no unecesary waffle. The way it should be.

T-shirts were nice and the Active Root drinks at the end was a welcome as i the temperature had started to rise.

All in all a great 10km trail run that will keep mostly everyone happy
