I have competed at Cholmondeley for the last six years, and it is by far my favourite race location. The lake is always a good temperature, the bike route is challenging, across rolling country side, and the run is flattish with a small but tough hill near the finish line - which for the Gauntlet has to be run up three times. The course is therefore challenging but do-able and makes you feel like you have been challenged. The marshalling and overall orgaisation is frankly superb.
The staff are all really friendly, and the addition of children's races make for a family atmosphere. Post race food is good, and hits the mark. Added to which are the various stalls which supply good food - hand made stone baked pizza anyone?, and real coffee.
Try it you wont be disappointed!
