First time doing the half on Sunday and what a warm day it was. Easy to find, parking no problem and number collection easy. Its a lap course and the half was around 8 laps. Worried that i may get dizzy as first time ever doing a lapped course too! Used it to my advantage to run 15 mins per lap in the hope of a sub 2 hours and a pb. Around 60 people in total for the whole event so not too crowded but the atmosphere was nice.. relaxed and well planned. The north east marathon club done great. Not many supporters but again it wasn't an issue. The first half seemed to fly by and the heat was rising. Water aid at one place on the course so chance for a drink and sweets on every lap.. i used this to my advantage taking a sip each round. Nearing the end of the  7th lap.. i shouted out only 1 lap left but heard a reply saying i had 2.. feeling worried i stopped and asked the marshall again who checked and agreed it was just the one. Legs feeling tired i decided to grab a drink of coke...freshly poured and looked delicious in the warmth! Something sweet and much needed. I set off ready for the final lap with 16 mins spare for my pb.. suddenly i had an overwhelming urge to be sick.. not sure what was going on i stooped over and was actually sick! Never before 'during' a run..sometimes after.. i composed myself and pushed my achy self to a sub 2 hours!! Elated and happy with that. Next time i will not take on any fizzy drinks..maybe cost me a whole 2 minutes!

Overall i enjoyed this one and very cheap to enter. Chip timed with a medal too!!

Well done to all runners and thanks to the marshalls
