I regularly use this location for open water swim training (it's a NOWCA affiliated lake) but this was my first event here.
Overall the exeperience was extremely positive, a lovely location with very efficient, no fuss, no hassle organisation.
Straddling the Norfolk / Suffolk border the course consists of a swim in the beautiful, woodland enclosed Fritton Lake, a 2 lap bike route around mainly quiet country roads - open to traffiic but quiet and the local drivers in the main showed plenty of patience and consideration. The 3 lap run is predominately off-road, making use of the tracks and trails around the lake - a variety of surfaces, narrow in places, and with plenty of twists and turrns.
Organisation could not be faulted, marshalls were in al the right places and were encouraging and supportive throughout.
My own race consisted of decent (by my standard) swim and bike legs, wrecked by a shocking run! But I wont let this distract from an excellent event - lots of credit due to the organisers and volunteers.
Sprint , Super Sprint, Relay options also available overtthe tri-festival weekend
Thank you for taking the time to review our event, Rick. We're very pleased that you enjoyed racing in our stunningly beautiful location. Our volunteer marshals were great and we'll pass your thanks onto them all. Hoping we'll see you racing at this event again in 2017, perhaps taking on the triple tri challenge? - HaverSports
