One of my favourite races. Flat, fast course with great PB potential.

This was my 9th year in a row at Cardiff Half Marathon which happened to be my first ever race in 2010.

I arrived reasonably late so missed what were apparently huge queues at baggage drop. As usual, the pens are huge with 20,000 plus runners so ideally you want to get in there early to get a good spot.

Although they now do wave starts with a couple of minutes between each one being set off, it is still quite crowded throughout the race but not so much that it would affect your time too much.

Plenty of water stations plus gels and sport drinks available on course. The atmosphere and support was amazing as always with plenty of supporters lining the streets offering encouragement and sweets.

Great medal but they might want to rethink the t-shirts next year.

This race will remain on my race calendar for years to come.
