I’m very glad I did the Southport Splashworld Triathlon 2019 and doing it with friends added to my enjoyment. With its coast road, parks and sea views, Southport is a very good location for expansive races. 
Both transitions took the same zone. The pool is in very good condition and  the roads were closed for the bike leg. There was a medal and a men’s T shirt for finishers; there was a relay team in our group, and all three members of the team got a medal and a shirt. The marshals were friendly and helpful. 
Points deducted for a difficult exit from the deep end of the pool, and for poor signage on the racking in transition. It was hard to see which rack was which, bikes were racked chaotically in T2 and I struggled to rack my bike between those either side of my spot. Also, I nearly lost my way due to concealed signage on the run.
