First time at this event and probably won't return even though it resulted in a big PB.
The registration is easy and the number is posted our well in advance. Parking on the morning is easy enough however some roads were closed earlier than advertised so be prepared to arrive early.
The race is mainly around industrial estates and rural roads and as such the spectator level is very low other than the section around the finish. You run two loops, a smaller 5 Mile then an 8 Mile. It's a tough course mentally and you have to watch your footing on some of the rural roads.
I PB'd by over 7 minutes so it's certainly a course you can run quickly on. The finish funnel is narrow so if you overtake on the outside be careful of the barrier feet (I nearly went flying over them). Nice medal and some Welsh Cakes at the finish, if you like your race shirts you don't get one here but the entry price is low.
Overall it's ok but it's a bit bland. The start area needs work too, it was the most congested and poorly managed I've ever been in.
