This race is a popular one and once you get a place and run it you can see why. It's not entirely without fault but there is a lot to like.

You need to follow the Facebook group and keep an eye on when entry opens. Once it's open it sells out inside 2 hours, so you do need to be on the ball.

Once your in there are loads of email updates and the numbers are posted out beforehand. We drove up and parked in the park and ride section. The buses to the start were late in getting going so there were some big queue's forming at that point.

Once off the bus you make your way round to the hall where you can collect the fabled finishers goody bag before or after you race. We got ours before then put them into backpacks and into the baggage store. The goody bags are the best around, it includes - cap, backpack, socks, t-shirt, buff and much more.

The hall area is incredibly busy and you do struggle to move, this wasn't helped by the very cold weather outside.

Start pens are marshalled and well organised. Once the race starts you run along the coast and around the marine lake, good support and we were very lucky with the weather and the lack of wind. It's a nice route. On finishing it's medal and fruit before walking back to the hall to collect baggage.

It's a great event if you can get in and if you're lucky with the weather it's a definite PB course!!
