Challenge Melbourne has everything you could want in a race. It is at an iconic location, it is flat and fast and within sight of one of Australia's biggest cities. I cannot understand why this is not one of the most popular races in Australia. There is a feel that the race is a bit of an afterthought. The dates have moved around and it is probably a little too late in the year to make it a must do event. The course is great but the run course is chaos with too many other people out there making it extremely difficult to get around. If this race was moved to the end of the year and giving some TLC it could be Australia's most popular half distance race.
