After pulling out of the Manc Half I was looking for a early April half marathon and stumbled across this race. A chance to do a point to point following the welsh coast from Colwyn Bay to Prestatyn. Sign up process was simple and plenty of communications via email and social media in the build up to the race. Race day parking was either at the Start or at Nova Centre in prestatyn at the finish. From Nova Centre busses were put on to get to the start line which was prompt and efficient. It was a cold, fresh and and windy morning but the route was stunning. The wind was the only real difficulty as it was a headwind all the way. One small hill early on and then pretty much flat most of the way. This would be a fantastic PB course if the weather conditions permit. One thing I did notice an other runners commented the same was the route came up a little short, my garmin ended up at 12.95. There was plenty of room on the promenade for the finish to be further down, hopefully sorted for next year. No finish bag but a sports drink, water, medal an tshirt at the end. Tech tshirt is nice but feels a bit sponsor heavy and doesnt represent the race very well. Medal was nice though. Maybe some chocolate or energy bar at the end would have gone down well. I would love to do this race again, many happy memories along the welsh coast!
