This was the inagural event of tye Sanlam Coast Half and the first time I’ve ran with Bespoke Events. Registration was quick and easy, bibs posted out. As the event is a point to point, the organisers laid on coaches for £5 from the large car park at the finish in Prestatyn, to the start in Colwyn Bay. Best start and finishing HQ’s I’ve had, with indoor facilites, toilets, showers and coffee (paid for, Costa). The course follows the stunning North Wales coastal path. Its really picturesque and unique. As there isnt housing, local support didnt really apply, but plenty of walkers and folk out enjoying the scenery offered encouragement. There were two aid stations with water, gels and sweets and plenty of friendly marshalls along the route. Unfortunately, there was a head wind the whole way. It would be great if the RD could arrange for the wind to be blowing westerly next year 😉 Great medal, tshirt and drinks at the finish, bands playing and a really good atmosphere at the Nova Centre in Prestatyn. Brilliant race, well organised and stunning setting. RD told me it would likely be two weeks later next year, I’ll certainly be booking again. Great, friendly local race!
