Registration opened up 12 months before the race and I obtained an early bird place at a reduced price. Communication via email, no issues. Race number arrived in plenty of time and an email containing the race day details. Arrived for the race on the tram, very easy and saved the hassle of parking up with the road closures. Big queues for the toilets but no different than all the other races I have done. The race itself was amazing, the course was very flat and mainly went through residential areas. The course was very well marked in miles, the water stations were fully stocked as were the gels stations. The support was the best EVER, the crowds were amazing and along the last 1KM the crowds were 4 or 5 deep and cheered you on every single step of the way. The Marshalls were fantastic and so encouraging - without these lovely people events wouldn't run as smoothly. After crossing the finish line you were handed a medal and then water, t-shirt, foil blanket and a soreen. The bag drop was amazing, quick drop off and super quick pick up. A pint of alcohol free lager wet the whistle on the way out. My first marathon and I loved every moment of it. Would I do this again, absolutely 100% 👍👍👍
