I was delighted to join the team from Centurion as part of the official pace team for this brilliant central London half marathon. Communications and pre race info are excellent and everything you need is issued to you in advance of the race. This has become a very large event so be aware that it is busy and bag drop and race day logistics can take a bit of time. I was delighted to be pacing 2.30 at this event and I loved it. The start is a little messy as runners are supposed to start in different waves depending on predicted finish times. This is self regulated and unfortunately a lot of runners ignored their given wave and simply started when they wanted. The first mile or so is quite congested. The route is brilliant taking in all the famous landmarks around the west end and the City. Crowd support was superb on what was a glorious day in London. Aid stations were sufficient, marshals all knew what was happening and if you like big city events you will like this. Lovely finishers medal and a smart technical t-shirt which is sent prior to the event. Had a large group running with me and delighted to bring them home in 2.29.04. I will definitely hope to do this event again and would love to be part of the official pace team again in 2020.
