The website was easy to use & register. You can book parking at MUFC car parks in advance so a car share will keep cost down if you can. I recommend arriving early. The car parks are a short walk from the race village, which also a short walk from the start & if you’re putting your bag away at the village you’ll need time to navigate through 20,000 other runners. There’s 180 toilets at race village but when you get up to the start line there are less so use the toilet in the race village if you can, I witnessed big queues at start line toilets. The race goes off in waves to avoid congestion on course & it’s chip timed so you’re at no disadvantage for it. The route is around the streets of Manchester, The only notable landmark I noticed was MUFC old Trafford. Mostly flat, easy to follow, loads of water stations, 3 on course gel stations. Toilets on course. Several music points. Some bits were quiet for crowds but then others it was packed with a great atmosphere. All in all a well organised event & the medal at the end was superb, dated for the year & a chunky one. There was soreen, water & Erdinger Alcohol Free beer at the end. I’d go back to this one & if you don’t get into London & are looking for a really good alternative this is a good choice.
