The race was very well organised, lots and lots of support all the way around. The residents were even out on their driveways with music, sweeties and tons and tons of encouragement. This was my first marathon and with the Metrolink it was very easy to get around the event for runners and for spectators to follow you around. Brilliant atmosphere, the only slight disappointment was that it doesn’t actually go through the city. This is only a slight disappointment as the enthusiasm of the crowd is quite infectious and truly makes up for it. I did not try the gels as they were not the ones I had trained with and weren’t available to be bought in the UK and tried beforehand. I hate portaloos as they’re so cramped and yucky but fortunately you pass a few filling stations if you want to use a proper toilet👍🏻 All in all a great event👍🏻🙌🏻🏃🏻‍♀️
