This Marathon is advertised as a P.B. course and I can see why, it is on the whole flat. The whole organisation from registering and finding you way to the start cannot be faulted, especially considering the amount of people there. The course itself goes around the different areas of Manchester and the crowds were outstanding loads of support and I cannot imagine how many jelly babies were offered and how many high 5's I gave. This could be controversial, but i would say the support is better than London. There were plenty of marshals, there was no risk of not knowing your way around. The finish line seems to go on forever as the final stretch is long and straight. Once finished everyone receives there medal, t shirt, soreen bar and water. Also in the finishers village there is a free pint waiting for you, massage and others goodies. I would definitely recommend this Marathon. I also ran the Mancunian Mile with my daughter before the Marathon, great support there also and really good to see kids enjoying the environment, they get a Medal and meet Manny the Bee at the finish. The only negative I have for the whole day is that the Marshalls didn't seem to know much about the Mancunian Mile, but everything else was spot on.
