My first time at this race, I benefitted from a reduced residents entry price living in one of the boroughs it runs through. The weather this year was really against all the runners and that made standing about at the start quite tough. On the plus side there were loads of toilets close to hand! The course took in so many great sights, running through the Limehouse Link on the way to Canary Wharf brought out the best in the runners all around me. Back up the riverside back towards the start and running over Tower Bridge just over half way was amazing. The run down to Greenwich on the south side felt quite empty of crowds in places, and running over cobbles is harder than it looks. Plenty of local support and I think this would have been better on a day without the 45mph wind! Excellent finish in Greenwich, it’s crowded but felt well organised for the post run goody pick up and back to the trucks to be reunited with your warm clothes. Overall, the volunteers made this run the excellent event it was. Will be running again in 2020!!
