The Bath Half starting in the beautiful city of Bath its a 2 lap course, the start and finish are in a stunning Georgian mews and the section around Queens Square is equally attractive, the loop out of the city and back is pleasant rather than stunning, the route is predominantly flat with a slight rise in to Queens Square but nothing lung busting. Registration is simple, price is a tad steep (£46.00), but the event normally sells out so clearly the price is not putting people off. Race packs are sent out early via post, along with a handy runners / spectators guide with plenty of updates on social media & Email. The railway station is close to the event centre, access to the athletes village was far too congested with only one way in and out clashing with the queues for the portaloos. I found the queue for the bag drops to be far too long and a tad slow moving, both on drop off and collection. The start is well organised, pens are a bit crowded but once running things thin out quite quickly. There are a couple of pinch points on the route in the early stages but nothing major. The big plus is the atmosphere. crowd support especially around the city is great with support on most of the course. The finishers goody bag is OK, good quality tech T shirt, the medal is a bit underwhelming. all in all its a great race, easy for spectators and a great atmosphere, the event is very popular so its likely to sell out again. if you like the big race feel, then this is a must.
