So getting to the start line was a ball ache but apart from that it was a great start to the morning, amazing views, sun, music. plenty of VISORS. what more could you want at 7am. Before I go in deep i must just say that the bag provided for the bag drop is tiny and really needs to be a bag like the ones they use in Berlin, London, Barcelona, enough room so you can put a jumper and a few bits in it., the bag we were issued was frankly pathetic. The start of the race was a bit hilly but who doesnt like hills for breakfast. plenty of water on route. The worst part was the out and back to the airport which was draining and very quiet but did include a gel station. From this point on it was a few more hills, a nice section around some farms which did stink, but was nice as no cars around what so ever. Then was the last 8 miles which included some nasty head wind which I found really hard to cope with and did bugger my time a little. We started to mingle with the half marathon runners which was nice as i was trying to encourage those that were walking. I really needed a downhill section but it didnt come quick enough for me and I had to settle for 12th position. :( Overall a good marathon, for me my most comfortable yet . few points to improve on :- Masssage area after was full of half marathon runners, maybe have one area for half runners and one for the full. The bag provided was too small and just not up to the job. Some marshalls were away with the fairies and not handing out water until you ran past them Better food options for after, 1 segment of orange wasn't enough. Good points :- The sun was shining Race supervisors were top draw Plenty of water provided Amazing medal
