One of my favourite events of the year and I’m glad I returned to run Brighton Half in 2019. It was a glorious day on the south coast and the good weather brought the crowds out too. In previous years the bag area has been pretty hectic but with the good weather runners dropped their bags early and made their way into the start pens in good time. The route is almost all on the seafront with a couple of out and backs, its good to see other runners of different speeds in these sections. It is a fast and flat route so if you get a clear start this does have PB potential. There are a number of aid stations on the course and it is really well marshalled, the course is on closed roads and very well supported from start to finish. The race starts and finishes in Madeira Drive on the seafront and all finishers receive a lovely medal. It is a big city event so on the more expensive end of the scale but I am sure I will be back again in the future.
